March is Intellectual Disabilities Awareness Month. The Arc, 222 Chestnut Street, is having a speaker Kurt Kondrich, March 7, 3013 to speak on How Down Syndrome Lifted Me. There will also be a dinner at 6pm with reservations needed and cost is $10.00 per person, Children 5 and under are free. Child care is available. Please request when reserving 724-7346.
Kurt is dedicated to supporting families and children we serve by being a voice for all the families of Early Intervention. He advocates for the continuity of quality intervention programs for success throughout life. Kurt regularly communicates with Legislators and staff to inform them of the importance of early intervention services and to demonstrate that investing in early intervention always yields a positive return.
His daughter Chloe is featured in the book Making a Case for Life by Stephane Wincik. She will also be here with the second edition of the book Bright Souls. Stephanie is a nurse at Erie Homes for Children and Adults. Both books have information about Chloe and others who have planted positive seeds of ABILITIES of Children with Down syndrome and other developmental challenges.
