In March of 2011, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched Hiring Our Heroes, a nationwide initiative to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Working with their network of 1600 state and local chambers and other strategic partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, the U.S. Chamber’s goal was to create a movement across America in hundreds of local communities where veterans and military families return every day.
In their first 12 months, Hiring Our Heroes has hosted more than 150 hiring fairs in 48 states and the District of Columbia; close to 10,000 have gotten jobs.
Join Shaun Carter of the U.S. Chamber as he explains the Hiring Our Heroes campaign and how the Meadville-Western Crawford County area can get involved and assist our local military men and women find their way back into the workforce.
