The Meadville-Western Crawford County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a monthly seminar series on aging. This month’s installment will be held Tuesday, July 25 at the Lew Davies Community Center on Park Avenue in Meadville, beginning at 6:30 pm. Seminars are free and open to the public.
This month’s session will feature a panel discussion on Medicare and Social Security with Kathy Freeman of Active Aging and Angie Niedermeyer of Byham’s Insurance Services.
Some key points that will be covered include:-
What is the difference between Medicare and Medicaid?

At what age can I begin receiving social security benefits?

When should I begin the social security application process?

Important tips for choosing the right Medicare plan

If I am still working, do I still have to sign up for Medicare?
Kathy Freeman has been employed by Active Aging, Inc. for 33 years working in Senior Center Services, Information and Referral, Care Management, Protective Services, Ombudsman, PA Link to Aging and Disability Services, and APPRISE State Health Insurance Counseling.
Angie Niedermeyer works for Byham’s Insurance Services since 2002 and has been selling Medicare products since 2005. She has over 3000 clients. She serves on an advisory board for AARP and is in the top 10 producers nationwide.For more information, contact the Chamber of Commerce at 337-8030.
